I have been using Camelbak better bottles for several years and needed to purchase a new one. I own 3 of the previous Camelbak better bottles with the bite valve. I use them everyday and take them everywhere I go. The no-tilt, spill-proof design makes drinking water effortless and convenient. Needless to say, they pay for themselves in a matter of weeks. Every friend or family member that has tried a Camelbak bottle has also fallen in love!I did have 3 minor complaints with the older version: 1. Two of my bottles with a blue bite valve had limited, slow flow. 2. The flip plastic piece was prone to breakage. I broke one by dropping it in the parking garage from arms length. (Luckily, Camelbak will kindly and promptly send you a new cap if this does happen with no questions asked - their customer service is awesome, and they stick by their lifetime guarantee!) 3. After having considerable success with the first version of Camelbak's water bottle, moving to the upgraded version was a definite mistake. As mentioned in other reviews I have seen of this new version, there are serious issues with the tilting of the bite piece. The lever used by your fingers to flip the piece is now a singular portion with the bite valve, which made of soft rubber, and is not nearly stiff enough to comfortably or easily move the piece. Further compounding the issue is the inappropriately stiff detent which locks the piece into open and close positions.If these two factors combined were not issue enough, now based on the position of the finger lever, you're guaranteed to have your dirty fingers rub all over the portion of the bite valve where you'll be placing your mouth.
